About the class

In this course, we delve into the fascinating field of political science, examining the theories, institutions, and processes that shape political systems and govern societies. Our goal is to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of political concepts, analytical skills, and the ability to critically analyze political phenomena.

In our advanced level political science class, we cover a wide range of topics that encompass political theory, comparative politics, international relations, and public policy. We explore the dynamics of power, governance, and decision-making at local, national, and global levels.

We begin by examining the foundations of political science and different theories of political thought. We explore concepts such as democracy, authoritarianism, liberalism, socialism, and conservatism. Through the analysis of influential political thinkers and their works, we aim to deepen your understanding of the ideologies that shape political systems.

Comparative politics is a central focus of our political science curriculum. We examine different political systems, institutions, and processes across various countries and regions. We analyze the similarities and differences in governance, electoral systems, party politics, and policy-making, providing insights into how different political contexts influence political outcomes and the lived experiences of citizens.

International relations is another key component of our curriculum. We explore the interactions between nation-states, international organizations, and non-state actors in the global arena. We examine topics such as diplomacy, conflict resolution, globalization, human rights, and the role of international institutions in shaping global politics.

Public policy analysis is emphasized in our political science class. We explore the policy-making process, the role of interest groups, and the evaluation of public policies. Through case studies, we analyze the formulation, implementation, and impact of policies in different contexts. We encourage you to critically evaluate policy decisions and propose alternatives based on your understanding of political science theories and empirical evidence.
